यहाँ ` 2x + 3y = 4 ` तथा ` x - 5 y + 7 = 0 `
अब दी गयी रेखाओं के प्रतिच्छेदन से जाने वाली रेखा का समीकरण
` ( 2 x + 3 y - 4 ) + lamda ( x- 5y + 7 ) = 0 `
`rArr ( 2 + lamda ) x + ( 3 - 5lamda ) y + ( 7lamda - 4 ) = 0" " `...(i)
चूँकि रेखा का x - अन्तः खण्ड - 4 है , तब ` ( - 4, 0 ) ` , समीकरण (i ) पर स्थित है |
इसलिए ` ( 2 + lamda ) ( - 4 ) + ( 7 lamda - 4 ) = 0 `
` rArr - 8 - 4lamda + 7 lamda - 4 = 0 `
` rArr lamda = 4 `
` lamda ` का यह मान समीकरण (i ) में रखने पर
अभीष्ट समीकरण ` 6x - 17 y + 24 = 0 ` है |
