माना कि G. P. का प्रथम पद a तथा सार्व अनुपात (c.r.)r है।
प्रश्न से `t_(7)=8.t_(4):.ar^(6)=8.ar^(3)" या "r^(3)=8" या "r^(3)=2^(3):.r=2`
पुनः `t_(5)=48:.ar^(4)=48" या "a.2^(4)=48:.a=3`
अतः अभीष्ट G.P. है 3, 6, 12, 24……..
