M द्रव्यमान के दो भागो m तथा (M -m ) में बांटकर कुछ दुरी पर रख दिया जाता है| `(m)/(M)` के किस मान के लिए इन भागों के बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल अधिकतम होगा? (दोनों भाग बिंदु द्रव्यमान है)

यदि दोनों भागो m तथा (M -m ) के बीच की दुरी r हो तो इनके बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल
` " " F=(Gm(M-m)) /(r^(2) )=(G)/(r^(2))(mM-m^(2))`
जहाँ `G,r,M` नियत है| F अधिकतम होने के लिए-
` " "(mM -m^(2) ) ` अधिकतम होना चाहिए
अतः `" "(d)/(dm) (mM-m^(2))=0`
` " " M - 2m =0` ltbr gt` " " M =2m ` अथवा ` " "(m)/(M) =(1)/(2)`
अतः बल अधिकतम तब होगा जब दोनों भाग बराबर हो(निश्चित दुरी के लिए)|
