(i) शुष्क HX , अच्छा इलेक्ट्रान स्नेही (electrophilic) है।
(ii) जल की उपस्थिति में HX से उत्प्रेरित होकर उत्पाद ऐल्कोहॉल में परिवर्तित हो जाते हैं।
