कुण्डली में शक्ति क्षय P, केवल इसके ओमीय प्रतिरोध R के कारण है | अतः,
`P = i_(rms)^(2) xx R`
अथवा `" "R = (P)/(i_(rms)^(2)) = (100)/((1.0)^(2))`
= 100 ओम
माना कि कुण्डली का प्रेरकत्व L है | इसका प्रतिघात `X_(L) = omegaL` होगा, जहाँ `omega` धारा की कोणीय आवृत्ति है | परिपथ की प्रतिबाधा ltb rgt `Z = sqrt(R^(2) + X_(L)^(2))`
परिपथ में धारा, `i_(rms) = (V_(rms))/(Z) = (V_(rms))/(sqrt(R^(2) + X_(L)^(2)))`
प्रश्नानुसार, `I_(rms) = 1.0` ऐम्पियर `V_(rms) = 110` वोल्ट तथा `R = 100` ओम
`therefore 1.0 = (100)/(sqrt((100)^(2)+X_(L)^(2)))`
अथवा `sqrt((100)^(2) + X_(L)^(2)) = (110)/(1.0) = 110` ओम
अथवा `X_(L) = sqrt((110)^(2) - (100)^(2))`
= 45.8 ओम
`therefore` कुण्डली का प्रेरकत्व,
`L = (X_(L))/(omega)=(X_(L))/(2pif)=(45.8"ओम")/(2xx3.14xx50 "सेकण्ड"^(-1))`
= 0. 146 हेनरी
