किसी निश्चित सेल के लिए विभवमापी के तार में संतुलन बिंदु 260 सेमी की दूरी पर प्राप्त होता है । एक दूसरे सेल के लिए जिसका वि वा बल पहले सेल से 0.1 वोल्ट कम है , संतुलन बिंदु 240 सेमी की दूरी पर प्राप्त होता है । प्रत्येक सेल का वि वा बल ज्ञात कीजिए ।

मानलो पहले सेल का वि. वा. बल `epsilon` है, तब
दूसरे सेल का वि. व. बल `=epsilon_(2)-0.1`
दिया है - `l_(1)=260` सेमी, `l_(2)=240` सेमी, `epsilon_(1)=epsilon= ?, epsilon_(2)=epsilon -0.1 = ?`
सूत्र - `(epsilon_(1))/(epsilon_(2))=(l_(1))/(l_(2))`
`therefore " " (epsilon)/(epsilon-0.1)=(260)/(240)`
या `260(epsilon-0.1)=240 epsilon`
`therefore " " epsilon = 1.3` वोल्ट |
तथा `epsilon_(2)=epsilon-0.1`
`=1.3-0.1=1.2` वोल्ट ।
