दो समान लम्बाई की तारो में एक ऐलुमिनियम का और दूसरा कॉपर का बना है । इनके प्रतिरोध समान है । दोनों तारो में से कौन - सा हल्का है ? अतः समझाइए की ऊपर से जाने वाली बिजली केवलो में एल्युमिनियम के तारो को क्यों पसंद किया जाता है ? `rho_(Al) = 2.63 xx 10^(-8) Omega m , rho _("cu") = 1. 72 xx 10^(-8) Omega m`
एल्युमिनियम एवं ताम्बे का आपेक्षिक घनत्व एवं 8.9 है
अतः द्रव्यमान = आयतन घनत्व 2.7 एवं 8.9 है
अतः द्रव्यमान = आयतन ` xx ` घनत्व
= A.l . D
` = (rhol)/R l.d ,( :. R = (rhol)/A)`
` = (rho d.l^(2))/R`
तारो की लम्बाई एकसमान है अतः प्रतिरोध भी समान होगा तब इनका द्रव्यमान आपात होगा
` (M_(cu))/(M_(Al)) = (rho _(cu).d_(cu))/(rho _(Al).d_(Al)) = (1.72 xx 10^(-8) xx 8.9 )/(2.63 xx 10^(-8) xx 2.7 ) `
या ` (M_(cu))/(M_(Al) = 2.15) ~~ 2.2`
