Correct Answer - Option 1 : 38.4 km

Given

Speed of Y = 12 m/s

Speed of Z = 20 m/s

Calculation

Speed of Y = 12 m/s

Distance coveted by Y in 1200 seconds (20 × 60) = 12 × 1200

⇒ 14,400 m

Speed of Z = 20 m/s

Distance covered by Z in 1200 seconds = 20 × 1200

⇒ 24,000 m

Total distance covered by Y and Z = 14,400 + 24,000

⇒ 38,400 m

 38.400 km [i.e 38,400/1000]

∴ After 20 minutes Y and Z are  38.4 km far.
