पीतल एवं ताँबे के बर्तनों में दही एवं खट्टे पदार्थ इसलिए नहीं रखने चाहिए क्योंकि दही में मौजूद लैक्टिक अम्ल होते है | जो पीतल एवं ताँबे के बर्तनों से अभिक्रिया करके हानिकारक ( विषैला ) यौगिक बनाते है | जिसके कारणवश ये खाने लायक नहीं रह जाते है |
