Molar volume is the volume occupied by 1 mol of any (ideal) gas at standard temperature and pressure (STP: 1 atmospheric pressure, 0°C). Show that it is 22.4 litres.

PV = µRT or V = \(\frac{μRT}{P}\)

V = \(\frac{1 \times 8.31 \times 273}{0.76 \times 13.6 \times 10^3 \times 9.8}m^3\)

= 22.4 × 10-3 m3 = 22.4 litre.
