Given,

Probability that A hits a target is 1/3

P(A) = \(\cfrac13\)

The probability that B hits it, is 2/5

P(b) = \(\cfrac25\)

P(target will be hit) = 1 – P(target will not be hit)

=1 – P(neither A nor B hit the target)
