6x + 4y = 5; 

9x + 6y = 8.

To prove: Set of given lines are inconsistent. 

Given set of lines are : - 

6x + 4y = 5 

9x + 6y = 8 

Converting the following equations in matrix form, 

AX = B

Again converting into equation form, we get 

6x + 4y = 5 

0x + 0y = 3 

∴ 0 = 3 

which is not true 

∴ 6x + 4y = 5 

9x + 6y = 8 are inconsistent.
