let no of students in a row=y
total number of students=xy

Total number of students=(x-1)(y+3)
xy=xy=3x-y-3
3x-y=3-(1)

TOtal number of students=(x+2)(y-3)
xy=xy-3x+2y-6-(2)
adding (1) and (2)
2y-y=6+3
y=9
putting this value in equation 1
x=4
total number of students=9*3=36
