Answer:

 1. Answer: (c) 3

Explanation:  There are 3 median in a triangle.

2. Answer:  (c) 3

Explanation: The number of vertices of a triangle is 3

3. Answer: (b) 2

Explanation: The two diagonals of a convex quadrilateral are the line segments that connect opposite vertices.

4. Answer:  (b) 180º

Explanation:  Let ABC be a triangle.

Through point A draw the line EF∥ BC.

⇒  ∠ABC=∠EAB     ....[ Alternate interior angles ]

⇒  ∠BCA=∠FAC     ....[ Alternate interior angles ]

⇒  ∠EAB+∠BAC+∠FAC=180º  ....[ Linear pairs ].

By substituting ∠EAB =∠ABC and ∠FAC =∠BCA

⇒  ∠ABC+∠CAB+∠ACB = 180º

∴  The sum of all the three angles in a triangle is 180º

5. Answer:  (c) 360º

Explanation: As we know that the sum of the measure of all the three angles of a triangle is 180°.

Similarly, the sum of the measure of all the four angles of a quadrilateral is 360º.

6. Answer:  (d) 9

Explanation: The number of diagonals of an n sided polygon is given by \(D_n=\frac{n(n-3)}{2}\)

A convex regular hexagon has 6 sides.

So, n=6

\(D_6=\frac{6(6-3)}{2}\)

= 9

7. Answer: (a) 900º

Explanation:  n = 7

(n – 2) 180°

(7 - 2) 180°

= 900º

8. Answer:  (b) 1080º

Explanation: n = 7

(n – 2) 180°

(8 - 2) 180°

= 1080º

9. Answer:  (a) (n – 2) 180°

Explanation:  The angle sum of a convex polygon with number of sides n is (n – 2) 180°

10. Answer:  (a) Equilateral triangle

Explanation: A triangle in which all three sides are the same length is called an Equilateral triangle.

11. Answer:  (c) 135º

Explanation: Fourth angle = 360º – (65º + 75º + 85º)

= 135º

12. Answer: (d) 90º

Explanation: Measure of each angle

= 360º/4

= 90º

13. Answer:  (c) 150º

Explanation:  Fourth angle = 360º – (70º + 70º + 70º)

= 150°

14. Answer:  (a) 190º

Explanation: Sum = 360º – (130º + 40º) = 190º.

15. Answer: (c) 75º

Explanation: Required measure \(\frac{360º-(110º+100º)}{2}\)

= 75º

16. Answer:  (b) 40º

Explanation: 360º/9

= 40º

17. Answer:  (c) 15

Explanation: Number of sides

= 360º/24º

= 15

18. Answer:  (b) 24

Explanation: Exterior angle = 180º – 165º

= 15°

∴ Number of sides

= 360º/15º

= 24

19. Answer:  (c) 7

Explanation: Sum of interior angles of polygon =10 right angles = 10 × 90°

 = 900° (given)

But sum of interior angles of a polygon = (2n−4) right angles.

i.e. 900 = (2n−4) × 90°

⇒180n −360 = 900

⇒180n = 900+360

n = 1260/180

n = 7

Hence the required number of sides = 7

20. Answer:  (b) 120°

Explanation: ∠A = 60°, therefore the opposite angle C = 60°

∠B =∠D [Rule of parallelogram] as they are opposite angles.

Let ∠B and ∠D be x

⇒ x + x +∠A +∠B = 360° [ sum of all sides of a polygon ]

⇒ 2x+60 +60 = 360°

⇒ 2x = 240°

⇒ x = 120°

∴∠D = 120°

Hence, the answer is 120°

21. Answer: (b) 36°

Explanation: Sum of the ratios = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10

 Smallest angle = \(\frac{1}{10}\times360°\)

= 36°

22. Answer: (b) 60°

Explanation: ∠A + ∠B = 180°

∠A : ∠B = 1 : 2

Stun of the ratios = 1 + 2 = 3

 ∠A  = \(\frac{1}{3}\times180°\)

= 60°

23. Answer:  (a) 40cm,30cm

Explanation: The perimeter of a parallelogram is 140 cm. If one of the sides is longer than the other by 10 cm.

Let  smaller side (a) =x  then longer side (b) = x + 10

Perimeter =2(a+b) =  2(x+x+10) = 140

=>  x = 30

Smaller side = 30cm

Larger side =30+10 = 40 cm

24. Answer: (a) 31 : 35

Explanation: In a parallelogram opposite side are congruent

Hence AB=CD and BC=AD

Now 2x+5=y+1 and 3x−4=y+5

On solving these equations we will get

2x−y =−4......(1)

And 3x−y = 9......(2)

Now on solving these equation, we will get x =13 and y = 30

Hence AB = 2x+5 = 2(13) + 5 =31

And BC = 3x−4 =3(13) −4 =35

Hence AB:BC = 31:35

25. Answer: (a) kite

Explanation: Kite a quadrilateral is a kite if it has two pairs of equal adjacent sides and unequal opposite sides. Kite a quadrilateral is a kite if it has two pairs if equal adjacent sides and unequal opposite sides.
