A ball is thrown vertically upwards with a speed of 120m/s. How much time will it take to reach the ground ? Taking g = 9.8m/s2 and neglecting air resistance.

u = 120m/s

g = -9.8m/s^2

v = 0

From second equation of motion

0 = 120 - 9.8t

120 = 9.8t

t = 12

Total time = 2t = 24s
