Magnetic Inclination: It is the angle made by resultant magnetic field of earth with the horizontal. It is also called angle of dip.
Relation, suppose \(\underset{B_e}\rightarrow\) is earth’s net magnetic field, θ is angle of dip. Resolving \(\underset{B_e}\rightarrow\) along horizontal and vertical directions; the horizontal component is H and vertical component
\(cos \,\theta=\cfrac{H}{B_e}\)
is V. From fig.
\(\therefore\) H=Be cos θ
This is the required relation.
