Significance of back cross:
i. It is a rapid method of improving crop variety.
ii. It helps to verify laws of inheritance.
iii. Back cross with dominant parent always produce dominant characters.
iv. Continuous back cross never produce recessive trait, hence recessive trait can be eliminated from progeny.
