If the equation 4x2 – 5 x + k = 0 has two equal solutions. Find the value of k.

If there is one solution, the discriminant = 0

b2 - 4ac = 0

(-5)2 - 4 x 4 x k = 0

25 - 16k = 0

16k = 25

\(K=\frac{25}{16}=1\frac{9}{16}\)
