Most parts of Rajasthan are desert and the amount of rainfall received is less there. Biju is of the opinion that Aravalli mountain is responsible for this.

b. The reasons are given below. It is because of the Aravalli ranges that Rajasthan receives only scanty rainfall. Lying parallel to the monsoon winds from the Arabian sea, it cannot obstruct the moisture-laden monsoon winds. Moreover, by the time the Arabian sea branch reaches Rajasthan, it loses much of its moisture content.
