A sector shown in the figure is rolled up and made a cone. Find its 

a. Slant height 

b. Base radius 

c. Volume

a. Slant height = radius of the sector = 30cm

b. Base radius = \(\frac{120}{360}\) of radius of the sector = \(\frac{120}{360}\times30=10\) cm

c. To find volume, we need the height

height (h) = \(\sqrt{(30)^2-10^2}\)

\(\sqrt{900-100}\)

\(\sqrt{800}\)

\(20\sqrt{2}\) cm

∴ Volume = \(\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h\) = \(\frac{1}{3}\pi \times10^2\times20\sqrt{2}\)

\(\frac{2000\sqrt{2x}}{3}\) cm3
