Best answer

Diameter of pipe P = 2 × 10-2

Diameter of Pipe Q = 4 × 10-2

Acc. to the equation of continuity

a1 v1  =a2 v2 ap vp = aq vq →A

aQ, aP = Cross – section area of pipe P and Q

vP, vQ = Velocity of liquid at pipe P and Q

i.e. Velocity of water in pipe P is four times the velocity of water in pipe Q.
