44/x+y + 30/x-y = 10

55/x+y - 40/x-y = 13

The given equations are

On adding (vii) and (viii), we get 

2x = 16 

⇒x = 8 

On substituting x =8 in (vii), we get: 

8 + y = 11 

⇒ y = 11 – 8 = 3 

Hence, the required solution is x = 8 and y =3.
