The mode of arrangement of leaves on the stem and its branches is called phyllotaxy. It is of four types :
(i) Alternate or spiral (e.g., Mango) (ii) Opposite superposed (e.g., Jamun) (iii) Opposite decussate (e.g., Calotropis) (iv) Whorled (e.g., Alstonia scholaris).
