The partial pressure of `CH_(3)OH_((g))`, `CO_((g))` and `H_(2(g))` in equilibrium mixture for the reaction, `CO_((g))+2H_(2(g))hArrCH_(3)OH_((g))` are `2.0`, `1.0` and `0.1` atm respectively at `427^(@)C`. The value of `K_(P)` for deomposition of `CH_(3)OH` to `CO` and `H_(2)` is:
A. `10^(2)atm`
B. `2xx10^(2)atm^(-1)`
C. `50^(2)atm^(2)`
D. `5xx10^(-3)atm^(2)`

Best answer
`CO((g))+2H_(2(g))hArrCH_(3)OH_((g))`
`K_(p)=(P_(CH_(3)OH))/(P_(CO)xx(P_(H_(2)))^(2))=(2)/(1xx(0.1)^(2))=200`
Thus `K_(p)` for decomposition of `CH_(3)OH`
`=(1)/(K_(p))=(1)/(200)=5xx10^(-3)atm^(2)`
