Same compound e.g. `Mn_(2)O_(7)` is dissociated into `O_(2)` and `MnO_(2)`, where oxidation and reduction take place, i.e. `2Mn_(2)O_(7) rarr 4 MNO_(2) + 3O_(2)`
It is an example of intramolecular redox reaction, while reaction, such as
`SnCl_(2) + 2FeCl_(3) rarr SnCl_(4) + 2FeCl_(2)`
is an example of intermolecular redox reaction.
