The lengthwise grain runs:
a. Parallel to the selvedge of the fabric; this has the least amount of stretch.
b. Perpendicular to the selvedge and has a little more stretch than the lengthwise grain.
c. Diagonal on a woven fabric in which a true 45degree angle is formed. The bias has the greatest amount of stretch.
