Hand pump water is ground water. It collects below the surface of the earth after passing through the pores of the earthy materials which act as a filter for it and is pure . Now due to disposal of domestic wastes and industiral effuents and use of fertilizers and pesticides, a number of harmful soluble substances dissolve into rain water and pass through the soil and enter into ground water resulting in pollution.
