मान ले कि गैस `A` का मोलर द्रव्यमान `M` है।
अतः, `A` के मोलो की संख्या `=(2.9)/(M)=n`
अब, `pV=nRT` के अनुसार,
`pV=(2.9)/(M)xxRxx368`
हाइड्रोजन के मोलो की संख्या `=(0.184)/(2)=n`
`:.pV=(0.184)/(2)xxRxx288`
चूकि दोनों गैसों के डाब और आयतन समान है, अतः
`(2.9)/(M)xxRxx368=(0.184)/(2)xxRxx288`
या `M=(2.9xx368xx2)/(0.184xx288)`
`=40.28 g mol^(-1)`
