प्रस्तुत अभिक्रिया निम्न प्रकार से सम्पन्न होती है -
`Cu(s) rarr Cu^(2+)(aq) + 2e^(-)` (ऑक्सीकरण अर्द्ध सैल अभिक्रिया )
`2Ag^(+)(aq) + 2e^(-) rarr 2Ag(s)` (अपचयन अर्द्ध सैल अभिक्रिया)
अतएव इस अभिक्रिया के लिए, `n = 2`.
`DeltaG^(@) = - nFE^(@) = -2 xx 96500 xx 0.46 = - 88780 J`
`DeltaG^(@)` साम्य स्थिरांक से निम्न प्रकार से सम्बन्धित है -
`DeltaG^(@) = -2.303 RT log_(10) K`
या `log_(10) K = - (DeltaG^(@))/(2.303 RT)`
मानों को प्रतिस्थापित करने पर,
`log_(10) K = - ((-88780))/(2.303 xx 8.314 xx 298) = 15.56`
`K = "antilog"_(10) 15.56 = 3.63 xx 10^(15)`
