Correct Answer - C
The `C=C` bonds of alkenes are stronger than the `C-C` bonds of alkanes. Stronger bonds have shorter bond lengths. In the stronger `C=C` bond, `4` electrons shield the bonding carbon atoms permitting closer approach to their positively charged nuclei than in the `C-C` bond shielded by only two electrons.
