दो सर्वसम (identical) पिण्ड एक ऐसे पदार्थ के बने हैं जिसकी उष्माधारिता ताप के साथ बढ़ती है । इनमे से एक पिण्ड का ताप `100^(@)C` तथा दूसरे का `0^(@)C` है । यदि इन दोनों को संपर्क में रखा जाये और इस प्रक्रिया में ऊष्मा का क्षय न हो, तो दोनों पिंडों का उभयनिष्ठ ताप होगाः

B. `50^(@)C`
C. `50^(@)C` से अधिक

`mc_(1) (T_(1) - T) = m c_(2) (T - T_(2))`
इससे `T = (m c_(1) xx 100 + 0)/(m c_(1) + m c_(2))`
क्योकि `c_(1) gt c_(2) therefore T gt (100)/(2) gt 50^(@)C`
