1500 किग्रा द्रव्यमान की एक कार 50 किमी/घण्टा की चाल से जा रही है । ब्रेक लगाने पर वह 25 मीटर चलकर रुक जाती है। ब्रेक द्वारा कार पर आरोपित बल की गणना कीजिए ।

माना कार का द्रव्यमान m तथा वेग v है। तब कार की गतिज ऊर्जा
`K=(1)/(2)mv^(2)`
यदि यह ऊर्जा बल F के विरुद्ध दुरी s चलने में व्यय हो, तो
`(1)/(2)mv^(2)=Fxxs`
`therefore F=((1)/(2)mv^(2))/(s).`
यहाँ m = 1500 किग्रा ,
`v=50 "किमी/घण्टा"=(50xx10^(3))/(60xx60)=(125)/(9)" मीटर / सेकण्ड "`
तथा s = 25 मीटर ।
`therefore F=((1)/(2)xx1500xx(125//9)^(2))/(25)=(1500xx125xx5)/(2xx81)=5787` न्यूटन ।
