चित्र 24.26 (a ) तथा (b ) में ,`k_(1)=100 ` न्यूटन/मीटर ,`k_(2)=400` न्यूटन/मीटर तथा M=5 किग्रा है । दोनों स्थितियों में M द्रव्यमान के पिण्ड के क्षैतिज दोलन का आवर्तकाल ज्ञात कीजिये ।

प्रश्नानुसार ,`k_(1) = 100` न्यूटन/मीटर `k_(2) = 400` न्यूटन/मीटर
M = 5 किग्रा
चित्र 24.26 (a) में -
प्रभावी बल नियतांक `k = (k_(1)k_(2))/(k_(1)+k_(2))`
` = (100 xx 400)/(100 + 400) = 80 ` न्यूटन/मीटर
अतः M के दोलन का आवर्तकाल `T = 2pi sqrt(M/k)`
` = 2 xx 3.14 sqrt(5/80)`
` = (2 xx 3.14)/4 = 1.57 ` सेकंड
चित्र 24.26 (b) में -
प्रभावी बल नियतांक ` k = k_(1) +k_(2)`
` = 100 + 400 = 500 ` न्यूटन/मीटर
अतः M के दोलन का आवर्तकाल ` T = 2pi sqrt(M/k)`
` = 2 xx 3.14 sqrt(5/100) = (2 xx 3.14)/10 = 0.628` सेकण्ड
