A boy stretches a stone against the rubber tape of a catapult or gulel (a device used to detch mangoes from the tree by boys in Indian villages ) through a distance of 24 cm before leaving it. the tape returns to its normal positon acceleratiing the stone over the stretched length. The stone leaves the gulelwith a speed 2.2 m/s.Assuming that the acceleration is constant while the stone was being pushed by te tape, find its magnitude.

Best answer
Consider the accelerated 24 cm motion of the stone.
Initial velocity=0
FiN/Al velocity =2.2 m/s
Distance travelled =24 xm = 0.24 m
Using `v^2=u^2+2ax`
`a=(4.84 m^2/s^2)/(2xx0.24m)=10.1 m/s^2`
