A tube `1 cm^2` in cross = section is attached to the top of a vessel 1 cm high and of cross - section 100 `cm^2` Water is poured into the system filling it to a depth of 100 cm above the bottom of the vessel as shown in fig. Take `g = ms^I(-2)` Now.

A. The force exerted by the water against the bottom of the vessel is 100 N
B. The weight of water in the system is 1.99 N
C. Both (a) and (b) are correct

Best answer
Correct Answer - C
(c ) `P = 100 cm xx 1 g cm^(-3) xx 100 cm s^(-2) = 10^5 dyne cm^(-2)`
`F = 10^5xx 100 dyne = 100 N`
Again, `V = 199 cm^3`
Weight = 199 xx 1 xx 1000 dyne = 1.99 N
