Best answer
For the complete disc, `M.I.` about the axis `=(1)/(2)(4M)R^(2)`
For the quarter disc,
`M.I.=(1)/(4)[(1)/(2)(4M)R^(2)]`
`=(1)/(2)MR^(2)`
