Best answer
`v = v_(0) + Delta v`
`= v_(0) + A`,
where, `A = A_(+) + A_(-)`
`= (5 xx 1) + (-(1)/(2) xx 8 xx 6)`
`= -19`
and `v_(0) = +5`
Then, `v = 5 - 19 = - 14 m//s`
