माना ध्वनि तरंग का दाब आयाम `P_(0)` तथा विस्थापन आयाम A है ।
तरंग की तीव्रता `I = (P_(0)^(2))/(2rhov)`
जहाँ `rho` माध्यम का घनत्व तथा v ध्वनि की चाल है ।
प्रश्नानुसार, `I = 10^(-12) "वाट"//"मीटर"^(2), rho = 13 "किग्रा"//"मीटर"^(3)`,
`upsilon = 332` मीटर/सेकण्ड
`10^(-12) = (P_(0)^(2))/(2 xx 1.3 xx 332)`
`P_(0) = [2 xx 1.3 xx 332 xx 10^(-12)]^(1/2)`
` = 2.94 xx 10^(-5) "न्यूटन"//"मीटर"^(2)`
प्रश्नानुसार, तरंग की आवृत्ति `f = 1` किलोहटर्ज `= 10^(3)` हटर्ज
अतः `A = (P_(0))/(rhoupsilonomega) = (P_(0))/(rhoupsilonxx2pif)`
