(i) इंजन की दक्षता, (ii) प्रति सेकण्ड अवशोषित ऊष्मा की मात्रा तथा निरस्त ऊष्मा की मात्रा।

(i) इजन की दक्षता
`eta = 1 - (T_(2))/(T_(1)) = 1- ((177 + 273)K)/((227 + 273)K)`
`= 1- (450)/(500) = (50)/(500) = 0.1 = 10%`
(ii) यदि `Q_(1)` अवशोषित ऊष्मा तथा निश्स्त ऊष्मा हो , तो
`eta = 1 -(Q_(2))/(Q_(1)) = (Q_(1) -Q_(2))/(Q_(1)) = (W)/(Q_(1))`
यहा `W = 42 xx 10^(3)` वाट `= 42 xx 10^(3)` जूल / सेकण्ड ।
प्रति सेकण्ड अवशोषित ऊष्मा `Q_(1) = (W)/(eta) = (42 xx 10^(3))/(0.1) = 4.2 xx 10^(5)` जूल / से |
तथा ` Q_(2) = Q_(1) - W = 4.2 xx 10^(5) - 42 xx 10^(3)`
` = 3.78 xx 10^(5)` जूल / सेकण्ड ।
