Best answer
`vecv= 1/lambda = R( 1/(2^(2)) - 1/(n_(i)^(2)))`
For shortest wavelength of Balmer series ` n_(i) to oo`
`1/lambda_(min) = R ( 1/2^(2) - 1/oo) = R/4 Rightarrow lambda_(min) = 4/R = 4/(1.097 xx 10^(7)0 m`
` = 3.646 xx 10^(-7) m = 3646 A`
Visible region of hydrogen spectrum does this wavelength lie.
