Diameter of the objective (or aperture) of an astronomical telescope is doubled. How does it affect resolving power of the telescope and intensity of the image ?

The resolving power is doubled
`( because R.P. = (D)/(1.22 lambda))`
and intensity of image becomes `4 times` as area of the objective lens becomes `4 times`.
