Statement-1: An electron of mass `m` when accelerated through a potential difference `V`, has de-broglie wavelength `lambda`. The de-broglie wavelength associated with a proton of mass `M` accelerated through the same potential difference will be `lambdasqrt(M//m)`.
Statement-2: de-broglie wavelength
`lambda=h/(sqrt(2meV))`.
A. Statement-1 is true, Statement-2 is true and Statement-2 is correct explanation of Statement-1.
B. Statement-1 is true, Statement-2 is true, but Statement-2 is not a correct explanation of Statement-1.
C. Statement-1 is true, but Statement-2 is false
D. Statement-1 is false, but Statement-2 is true.

Best answer
Correct Answer - d
`eV=1/2mv^(2)` or `mv=sqrt(2meV)`
`:. lambda=h/(mv)=h/(sqrt(2meV)), i.e, lambda prop1/(sqrt(m))`
`:. (lambda_(2))/(lambda_(1))=sqrt(m/M)` or `lambda_(2)=lambda_(1)sqrt(m/M)=lambdasqrt(m/M)`
Thus, statement-1 is wrong and statement-2 is correct.
