Correct Answer - 1
A supersaturated solution is prepared by cooling a saturated solution very gradually to prevent crystallization. Sodium acetate `(CH_(3)COONa)` is an example of a substance that will form a supersaturated solution. However supersaturated solutions are unstable. Once such a solution has been prepared, adding even a tiny amount of solid `CH_(3)COONa` (called a seed crystal) will caused the excess `CH_(3)COONa` to crystallize out of the solution immediately.
