Which of the following statement is correct?
A. `N_(2)O_(5)` is an ionic solid and is represented by `NO_(2)^(+)NO_(3)^(-)` ( nitronium nitrate).
B. The `NO_(2)^(-)` has a pyramidal shape
C. The `NO_(3)^(-)` has a `T`-Shape

Correct Answer - 1
`N_(2)O_(5)` is a white crystalline deliquescent ionic solid and exists as ionic nitronium nitrate `(NO_(2)^(+)NO_(3)^(-))` as proven by the following ionic reaction with aqueous `NaCl`:
`N_(2)O_(5)+NaClrarrNA^(+)NO_(3)^(-)+NO_(2)^(+)Cl^(-)`
The nitronium ion `(NO_(2)^(+))` is isoelectronic with `CO_(2)` and has a similar linear structure:
`O=C=O" "O=overset(+)(N)=O`
The nitrate ion `(NO_(3)^(-))` is plannar and symmertical

Nitrogen pentoxide is covalent in solution and in the gas phase, and probably has the structure.
