दर्शाइए कि बिंदु A,B और C, जिनके स्थिति सदिश क्रमश: `veca = 3hati - 4hatj - 4hatk, vecb = 2hati -hatj +hatk` और `vecc =hati - 3hatj - 5hatk`, हैं, समकोण त्रिभुज के शीशों का निर्माण करते हैं|

दिया हैं: `vec(OA) = veca = 3hati - 4hatj - 4hatk, vec(OB) = vecb = 2hati - hatj + hatk`
तथा `vec(OC) = vecc = hati - 3hatj - 5hatk`
तथा `vec(AB) = vec(OB) -vec(OA) = vecb - veca = (2hati - hatj +hatk) -(3hati - 4hatj - 4hatk)`
`=-hati + 3hatj + 5hatk`
`vec(AC) = vec(OC) - vec(OA) = vecc- veca =-2hati + hatj - hatk`
`vec(BC) = vec(OC) - vec(OB) =-hati -2hatj - 6hatk`
`vec(AB) =|vec(AB)| = sqrt((-1)^(2) + 3^(2) + 5^(2)) =sqrt(35)`
`BC = |vec(BC)|= sqrt((-2)^(2) + 1^(2) +(-1)^(2))=sqrt(6)`
स्पष्तः `BC^(2) = AB^(2) + AC^(2)`
अतः A,B, C एक समकोण त्रिभुज के शीर्ष हैं जिसका कोण A समकोण हैं|
