दिए गए समतलों के प्रतिच्छेदन समतल का समीकरण निम्न है,
` [ vecr* ( hati + hatj + hatk ) - 1 ] + lamda [ vecr * ( 2hati + 3 hatj - hatk ) + 4] = 0 `
` rArr vecr * [ ( 2lamda + 1 ) hati + ( 3 lamda + 1 ) hatj + ( 1 - lamda ) hatk ] + ( 4 lamda - 1 ) = 0 ` ... ( 1)
इस समतल के दिक् अनुपात ` ( 2lamda + 1 ) , ( 3lamda + 1 ) ` तथा ` ( 1- lamda ) ` है |
अभीष्ट समतल X -अक्ष के समांतर है, अतः समतल का अभिलम्ब X -अक्ष के लंबवत है |
X - अक्ष के दिक् अनुपात 1, 0 तथा 0 है | ` therefore 1 ( 2 lamda + 1 ) + 0 ( 3lamda + 1 ) + 0 ( 1 - lamda ) = 0 `
` rArr 2lamda + 1 = 0 rArr = - ( 1 ) /(2) `
` lamda ` का मान समीकरण (1) में रखने पर, ` vecr * ( - ( 1 ) /(2) hatj + ( 3 ) /(2) hatk ) + ( - 3 ) = 0 rArr vecr * ( hatj - 3 hatk ) + 6 = 0 `
अतः समतल का कार्तीय समीकरण ` y - 3z + 6 = 0 ` जोकि समतल का अभीष्ट समीकरण है |
