एक अवतल दर्पण की वक्रता त्रिज्या 40 सेमी है। एक वस्तु की स्थिति ज्ञात कीजिए जबकि उसके प्रतिबिम्ब का आवर्धन 4 है। प्रतिबिम्ब की स्थिति ज्ञात कीजिए।

Correct Answer - 25 सेमी वास्तविक प्रतिबिंब के लिए , 15 सेमी आभासी प्रतिबिम्ब के लिए
m=-4 (वास्तविक प्रतिबिम्ब ) , f=-20 सेमी
`m=(-v)/u`
`rArr -4=(-v)/u` या v=4u
`1/f=1/(4u)+1/u`
`-1/20=(1+4)/(4u)`
या 4u=-100
या u=-25 सेमी तथा v=-100 सेमी
m=4 (आभासी प्रतिबिम्ब)
`therefore 4=-v/u` या v=-4u
`1/f=1/v+1/u`
`-1/20=-1/(4u)+1/u=(-1+4)/(4u)`
4u= -60 सेमी
u=-15 सेमी
v=60 सेमी
