प्रस्तुत सैल के संगत अर्द्ध सैल अभिक्रियाएँ निम्न है -
`Nito Ni^(2+)(1M)+2e^(-)`
` 2Ag^(+)(1M) +2e^(-) to 2Ag`
चूँकि निकिल इलेक्ट्रोड पर ऑक्सीकरण तथा सिल्वर इलेक्ट्रोड पर अपचयन की क्रिया संपन्न को रही है अतएव निकिल इलेक्ट्रोड एनोड का तथा सिल्वर इलेक्ट्रोड कैथोड का कार्य करेगा । अतएव ,
`E_("cell")^(@)=E_("cathode")^(@)-E_("anode")^(@)`
`E_(Ag^(+)//Ag)^(@)-E_(Ni^(2+)//Ni)^(@)`
`0.80-(-0.25)=0.80+0.25=1.05V`
