घनत्व `(prop)=(ZM)/(a^3N_0)`
`M=2.7 xx10^(-2),a= 405" pm"= 405xx 10^(-12)` मीटर,
`=4.05 xx10^(-10)m`,
घनत्व `(prop)=2.7xx10^3 kg/m^3`,
`N_0=6.02xx 10^23`
अतः `2.7xx10^3=(Zxx2.7xx10^(-2))/((405)^3xx10^(-36)xx6.02xx10^23)`
या `Z=(2.7xx10^3xx(4.05xx10^(-10))^3xx6.02xx10^23)/(2.7xx10^(-2))=4`
= 3.99 या 4.
चूँकि एक एकक कोष्ठिका में परमाणुओं की संख्या 4 है, अतः एकक कोष्ठिका ccp या fce होगी।
