The `C_(2)H_(5)` as with respect to `C_(1)-Br` hence elimination does not occur according to Saytzeff rule. Intead `C_(5)-H` is trans to `C_(1)-Br`. Therefore, elimination occurs on this side to give-3-phenylcyclopentane.
